SALMON PODCASTS

Every year Tidelines produces a podcast about different aspects of the Atlantic Salmon’s story. These podcast brings together art, science, history and culture learning about the challenges Salmon face due to climate change and human-caused environmental stresses. These range from conversations with local fishers who have had a relationship with Exe salmon over generations, to exchanges with genetic scientists studying migration pathways, to evolutionary tales of fish and humans, to experts working to remove weirs, to the role of culture, art and sport in environmental activism at a time of climate change and nature crisis. One of the podcasts stars live leaping salmon! In 2026 our podcast was produced by Green Runners. Tidelines are grateful for the people who have contributed their time and energy to make this podcast library.

ARTS ACTIVISM: RUNNING FOR NATURE
What happens when running meets art and environmental activism? What does it means to run for ‘nature’? Listen here to Ceri Rees, renowned trail runner and founder of Wild Running in free flowing discussion with Anne-Marie Culhane and Jo Salter, artists, activists and co-founders of Salmon Run. (33 minutes, 2023) Produced by Wild Running.

SALMON RUN : GO HARD & GO HOME
For the 2026 podcast Green Runners’
Laura Briggs sits down with Anne-Marie Culhane, award-winner eco-artist; Goldman Environmental Prize winner Sarah Finch, and London 2012 Canoe Slalom Champion Etienne Stott MBE to unpack the wildly creative 43-mile relay fighting to restore the River Exe’s endangered Atlantic salmon population.
The trio reveals what it takes to defeat oil giants in the UK’s highest court, how navigating elite white-water translates to climate advocacy, and how new stories that connect us to place and other species and trading competitive race times for running “as a shoal” can turn environmental despair into community action.
A story about grassroots activism, ecological wonder, and the unforgettable power of running for something bigger than yourself. Listen on Podcast Addict, Spotify,  Apple Podcasts or watch here.  (42 minutes, 2026)
